Flowers for Good! A Special You-Pick Event at Raindance Farm Flowers

On Monday, August 4th Raindance Farm will open its flower field to the public for the first time on its new land for a special you-pick event.

Enjoy an evening wandering around the flower field. We have 15,000 plants in full bloom this week in a gorgeous array of colors and textures. Come for a quiet evening of joyful color and take a moment of respite from the chaos of the world. Or bring your friends, neighbors, and children for a social evening.

We provide mason jars or car cup-holder sized paper cups (your preference) and our favorite farm snippers. You can wander the field, cut the flowers and colors you love, and stuff the jar with blooms to take home. Feel free to snap photos of yourself and your beloveds (no professional photographers or sessions please).

All proceeds from this special you-pick event will benefit Joe, a formerly incarcerated returning citizen, who could use some help getting on his feet.

It is a gift to have Joe back in our community!! While he is enjoying his freedom, making connections with those he loves, and driving for Uber, he's also in deep need of support from all of us to establish his life after 45 years in the prison system.

When Joe was 18, he was arrested for stealing a nominal amount of money and it is truly heinous that he had to spend decades in prison, and now has to build a life outside with little to no financial access. May we be in deep practice of mutual aid!

What to Expect

+ When you arrive, you’ll check-in to enter the garden space. We have tickets for “Just Looking & Taking Photos” and “Cutting Flowers to Take Home.”

+A mason jar will be provided for those with a Cutting Flowers ticket. Fill the mason jar with blooms to take home. If you would like to purchase another jar of flowers, you can pay $25 on site. You can bring your own snippers or borrow some from the farm. If you’d like to purchase our professional snippers to take home, they are $25 a pair.

+ We encourage folks to consider closed-toe shoes and clothing for the weather. The farm has clear footpaths, but the ground is uneven.

+While you visit the farm, you’ll enjoy the diversity and beauty of our natural spaces as well as rows of blooms in the field. This is a working farm not normally open to the public, so be on the lookout for irrigation lines, rocks, etc.

Tickets

Each person visiting the farm will need to purchase a ticket in advance. This helps us give everyone the best experience!

Please bring your ticket receipt(s) in paper copy or on your phone for admission.

The Fine Print

+ In the event of inclement weather, the rain date will be Thursday, August 7th. In the event of inclement weather forecasts, cancellation with raindate notice will be sent to the email address used to purchase tickets.

+ Although we love furry friends, to keep our flower fields healthy and our space safe for all guests, we do not allow visiting dogs or other pets on our farm.

+ You-Pick Event tickets are valid for flower harvesting on the specified day and time. Please do not arrive early. The farm is only open to the public during special programs like this one. Thank you for your understanding and support!
