Kristen Muehlhauser

Kristen (she/her) came to farming via community gardening after a decade working in healthcare as a registered nurse. Before moving to the farm in 2018, she was seen hauling preschoolers around Ann Arbor in her cargo bike and learning from her wonderful neighbors how to grow vegetables. She loves reading aloud to her kids, enjoys hiking (but is a wimpy camper), and plays guitar badly and enthusiastically with friends. She knows the farm is a gift and aspires to leave it better than she found it for whoever follows.

Kristen and Adam have been married since 2007, which is the year they moved to the Arbor-Ypsi area. They parent two awesome elementary school kiddos and a smiley one year old.

When Community Farm Project folks first meet Adam (he/him), he usually introduces himself as “the farmer’s husband.”   He has an off-farm day job and spends the evening parenting.   In the few remaining moments, he is doing his best to revive the farm infrastructure and create sustainable system improvements.

Meredith

Meredith is a recovering tenured service industry worker with three seasons (in one form or another) at Raindance under her belt. A background in architecture and design and her lifetime of experiences allow her to share a variety of skills with any team she’s involved with. Meredith enjoys getting her hands dirty and truly enjoys sharing knowledge and learning about the life experiences of those around her.

Meredith spends most of her time with her preschooler and toddler doing art projects, blowing bubbles, visiting with neighbors or catching frogs down at the pond behind her house. She shares her home with her partner and her mother - a true multi-generational experience. When she’s able to carve out time for herself, she enjoys drawing, sewing, listening to podcasts and in a rare moment having her own personal dance party.

Adam Muehlhauser

Adam (he/him) is a father of three, a loving spouse, a rust-prevention engineer, a woodworker, and an old machine rehabilitator. In his free time he maintains the farm, makes hearty breakfasts, reads books to children for hours, gives toddlers tractor rides, repairs farm irrigation systems, builds new tools for the farm, and mows and mows and mows.

Erin

Erin (she/her) has a decade of social work experience, and she is currently a mental health therapist with a specialty in Ecotherapy.  Ecotherapy is based on the idea that humans are nature, and we cannot heal our individual pain without developing a reciprocal relationship with nature. Erin felt a pull to deepen her personal connection with nature by getting her hands in the soil, cultivating food from seed, enjoying the beauty of Earth’s flowers, and immersing herself in the various Michigan weather conditions outside on a regular basis. She discovered Raindance and she is so excited to honor her passion by working on the farm for the first time!

Jacob

Jacob (he/him) recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a master's in ecology & evolutionary biology, where he studied ecologically-friendly pest control methods in the coffee farms of Puerto Rico. He thinks agriculture is rad and is super excited to join Raindance Organic Farm to learn how to grow fun things. He is interested in all things agroecological, botanical, and sustainable, and in his spare time he enjoys learning languages, cooking, throwing pottery, and looking at ants. You can find Jacob at the Ann Arbor Farmer’s Market many Saturdays this season.
